Warning! Repent:

“O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD” (Jeremiah 22:29).

“Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God” (Psalm 50:2, 23).

Jesus says: “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15). “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).

Be vigilant and ready:

Today, there is seemingly a “comfort zone” in this technology centred generation that humans are in control of their own destiny. There are even TV advertisements asking: “Where will you be when the first man lands on Mars?” However, do not be fooled because time as this word is read is literally passing away towards the End (Revelation 11:18).

Jesus preached throughout his brief mission here on earth, and is still relevant to this today, saying: “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15).

However, these words are being ignored more so today because there are so many distractions with the launch of the next technological gadget. Now is the time to repent and believe the gospel because it is written: “For when they shall say, peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape” (1 Thessalonians 5:3).

Therefore, “Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger” (Zephaniah 2:3).

Armour of light

Whatever we face this day, let us be reminded the Holy Scriptures says: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).

“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light” (Romans 13:11-12).

New Heavens and a New Earth

Jesus says: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35).

“Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you” (2 Peter 3:13-15).

Day of Judgment

“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the Son of man, that he should repent” (Numbers 23:19).

“And in the times of this ignorance God winked at but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent. Because he hath [APPOINTED A DAY], in which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained” (Acts 17:30-31).

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18).

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God” (Psalm 9:17).

Help the poor

Fashion hits and misses, awesome moments, sweetist photographs and so on on the red carpet of another awards show.

Words cannot begin to describe such childishness or silliness, because there is so much suffering, starvation and sorrow by countless people in this world where over one billion people live on the edge of poverty.

“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things” (1 Corinthian 13:11).

“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come” (1 Timothy 6:17–19).

“For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the LORD. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul; all they that hate me love death” (Proverbs 8:35–36).

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God” (Psalm 9:17).

Word of God

Absolutely nothing will be remembered of this world because the word of God says: “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind” (Isaiah 65:17).

Jesus says: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35).

Therefore, “Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read” (Isaiah 34:16).

“Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’s anger” (Zephaniah 2:3).

God is a Spirit

Jesus says: “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23–24); and “When ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him” (Matthew 6:7-8).

Jesus taught us to pray saying: “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen” (Matthew 6:10-13).

Which direction?

How we maneuver through the traffic in a lifetime will determine where we end up on the Last Day (John 12:48).

Jesus says: “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Matthew 6:19-21).

“The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath” (Proverbs 15:24).

LIFE DIRECTIONS:

We are to stay focused in the right direction. With our knowledge and understanding of the word of God, we are not to let the busy traffic of this life turn us in the wrong direction toward the lusts, pleasures, and cares of this life in this world. How we maneuver through the traffic in a lifetime will determine where we end up on the Last Day.

Jesus explained that we must not “Let the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word and it becometh unfruitful” (Mark 4:19).

“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the Last Day” (John 12:48).
