SALVATION, SALVATION, SALVATION: “I believe in Jesus, the only begotten Son of God” because he is the salvation of God (Isaiah 49:6, 52:10) (Luke 2:32) (John 3:16-18).
Jesus underscored this very fact in his communication with a Samaritan woman by a well saying: “Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22-24). Paul added, “The Gentiles should be fellowheirs, as co-inheritors with the Jews and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel” (Ephesians 3:6).
Jesus says: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21).
“For many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14).
“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:22-23). “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal” (Matthew 25:46).
Paul reminds us, said: “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling that ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ” (Philippians 2:12, 1:10).
